At the end of June, we went to our first rodeo. I don’t remember rodeo’s being a popular thing to do in Washington but it's THE thing to do in the summer here in Utah. Every city here has it’s own “city days” with a parade, carnival, and a rodeo. We went to the Pony Express Days PRCA Rodeo in Eagle Mountain. I think at least 1/3 of the city residents were there! Although we missed the mutton busting event and never really figured out how the barrel racing and bull riding scoring worked, we still had fun.
At the end of June we got to spend an evening visiting with my grandparents. They were on a road trip and made a stop in Utah. I don’t think Jeremy and I have ever had a chance to visit with them outside of family get-togethers. We got to catch up on all kinds of things over pie and ice cream and even got to hear about how my grandparents met while they were students at Seattle University. I can’t wait to see them again during our trip to Seattle in a few weeks.
Just a few days after my grandparents left, my mom flew into town for her annual 4th of July visit. We had a great time catching up and talking about pregnancy and baby stuff. I was just starting to “show” when she got here and although it will only be a few weeks between her visit here and our trip there, I think she’s going to be surprised at the size of this bump!
We spent the 4th of July at the Salt Lake Bee's game with the Morton's and got to see a great fireworks show afterwards.
We had a great lunch at Red Iguana. This might just have to be a regular stop every year when mom's in town. It's one of a few restaurants in SLC featured on Diners, Drive Ins & Dives... yumm!
We got to spend some time at Babies 'R Us getting our registry started. The bump is finally starting to show!
